  • Lee was incredibly proud of his new tubeless tires. Of course, they're tricky to fix when they get a puncture without even having hit a hill. Luckily, some combined expertise and educated guesswork enabled us to fit a tube and tire so Lee could complete the climb, even if a little heavier than he had hoped for.
  • Lee leading the way - a familiar sight (although Gareth actually charged away just after this photo, but the hill soon took care of that).
  • James is such a lovely young man.
  • Mike pretending he's not scared of what lies ahead.
  • The pain. And we're not even half way up!
  • They drank about four litres each, and we still ran out of water!
  • Determination.

  • Refuelling. I filled the bottle then chased in the car to pass it back.
  • Disbelief as Damian tells everyone that he's ready to do it all again.
  • Preparing for the ride back to Kuala Lumpur.
  • Bikes taking a well-deserved rest.
  • Going downhill brought a smile to everyone's face, except Lee who could not complete due to his dodgily-patched up tire.
  • Celebrations on a job well done.
